“It was the end of August, and the skies were cloudless and the weather superb…It seemed to me that nothing could be so fine and so romantic.” – ...

When you ask you friends to take outfit photos with you… this is the craziness that happens next! LOVE IT! Everyone has so much attitude! Apparently they think fashion bloggers have a lot of attitude- and spunk! (also, that was just four exclamation points in a row-wow!) okay- all seriousness, we are all so lucky to have each other… and last night was case in point.
Buster and Rusty (cliff and glenn’s dogs) were let out of their run by the gardeners and were missing for over 6 hours. Everyone rushed over from all areas of town and went on the look- putting up signs, riding around in the cars with huge flashlights and then by foot, scanning the neighborhoods. Luckily, the doggies came home (with some bruises and cuts- but nothing major) and all is okay. I’m so happy everyone came together if merely for support.
on to other news- I signed up for a 10K on Feb. 13th. Not too much training time, but I’m already getting back into running around 3 or 4 miles now, so it should be just enough time to get up to 6. I also started a more healthy eating plan if for nothing else than I know my body requires that when i’m running and I want to have a faster time than I did during my 1/2 marathon… so i just thought it smart to switch up the eating, too. Today I did 4 miles- 44:56 minutes.
Wish me luck!

Day 20/ 30 Our last day in Vegas we decided to take a little road trip up to Area 51. It’s not one of those things we intended on doing- actually two separate people mentioned Area 51 in the matter of a few days and we thought it was a sign telling us to go. We started out early (Bob, Christienne, Justin and Glenn) with McDonalds breakfast sandwiches and settled into the car ride. The best thing about the drive is that there are little signs every so often that really get you excited. As we were driving to Rachel (the small town 8 miles from Area 51, population 74.) we stopped by the Alien Museum, The E.T. Highway sign and the “black mailbox” (which is believed to carry mail to Area 51- however we are pretty sure it’s just a persons mailbox… and he has since painted it white!!!) and the back gate to Area 51. I’m not really one into conspiracy theories, but as we were driving I started feeling a little excited. Like maybe we were going to find aliens and spaceships and blow the top off the whole deal.
These types of road trips can be awesome or horrible depending on the type of people you are with- and luckily we were all super excited and silly about the whole experience. I didn’t get car sick or annoyed by being in the car all day. If you are crazy and silly like us, I’d highly suggest the drive.
As for the outfit- I knew I wanted to be comfortable in the car and at the same time warm. It was over 6,000 feet elevation and there was tons of snow on the ground! I wrapped my “warm” sweater around me and tied a bow around it to keep it closed. The circle scarf was a gift from my mom and it’s amazing. I even wrapped it around my ears to keep them warm, too!
outfit details: jeans- gap, sweater- F21, boots- bcbgeneration (all part of the challenge) scarf- Free People

Yesterday was one of those days where from the moment you wake you to the moment you go to sleep you are surrounded by fun people who make you laugh non-stop and who you love whole heartedly. And Bob came home from his shoot!! What a freakin’ great day!
It was actually cooler than it had been the rest of the week and I took full advantage to layer up. I wanted to use pieces that I wasn’t going to be remixing for the next 30 days, and also wanted something Fall appropriate. And, this is what I came up with: Anthropologie dress (disguised as a skirt), GAP cardigan (the ruffles are my favorite), thrifted belt, seychelles shoes, betsey johnson purse and Free People circle scarf.
I love circle scarfs because I feel like you don’t need a necklace and they add such a pop of color. Last night at dinner I showed some of my friends my circle scarf that I made- and they acted like I was hiding a talent from them! it was too funny!! Also- they all want circle scarfs. (I’ll have to get busy…)
The last picture is of me and Sabrina- we studied abroad in London together and while out shopping we saw this and had to get our picture taken…. we took one with both our cameras and the girl was super sweet to take them. oh, London…
hope you had a great Saturday!

This morning, Bob and I picked up Zane from his car appointment and went to brunch at my favorite neighborhood spot- Magnolia Bakery. Nope- not that Magnolia Bakery- Magnolia Grille that I have for some reason always called Bakery. Eh- anyway- brunch was lovely and the pumpkin bread was the best it’s ever been!!
Afterwards, we walked through our park with the doggies. The weather was overcast and gray, again, but it was actually really nice weather for a stroll with the guys!
Then, this afternoon I went for a run- a 5 mile run- and though I am really proud of myself- my legs are killing me!! I’m excited to run a short 3 miler on Wednesday- that’s for sure!
Now, I’m cooking up some grilled cheese and tomato soup for me and Bob. I’m thinking of making an avocado, tomato, cheese… I think that sounds absolutely delicious!
Hope you had a great Monday!
