“It was the end of August, and the skies were cloudless and the weather superb…It seemed to me that nothing could be so fine and so romantic.” – ...

The other day I was having the worst day ever… then I ran into Target for dog treats- stumbled upon these Missoni for Target flats (that I really wanted weeks ago but had sold out), threw them into my basket, and then put on the most fun colors in my closet and walked to the Grove. Talk about the BEST way to turn around a bad day! Loved this outfit- loved the adorable doggies that wanted to give me kisses (but the owner was rushing them passed us), love being able to walk to the Grove.

The best part about our new apartment is its location. It’s a short walk everywhere you want to go. It’s lovely. We snapped these photos walking back from Whole Foods and World Market (we had gone in to buy that rug, but actually found a different one we liked even better!).
A kind of funky color combo today- mustard yellow, crazy print shorts and maroon shoes, but somehow it all works together. It was super easy to throw on but still seemed dressed up enough to walk around our more fashionable ‘hood.

Our trip can best be described as a hop on/ hop off ride. We drive until we see something cool, beautiful, odd, and if we are hungry. This was one of those spots where we just pulled off on the side of the road and walked down to the cliffs. Such a gorgeous day- slight chill in the air, but so sunny.

Honestly, I can’t express how amazing the last five days have been. If you ever get the chance to camp and drive highway 1 up the coast of California- do it. So much to say, but really- I just had the most amazing time. Lots more photos and a crazy 60’s style video we made on our travel site!
Dress- Free People, Boots- lucky brand, sweater- F21, ring- gift from Sabrina from Costa Rica

The last couple of weeks have been Stressful with a capitol S. I’ll go ahead and add super in front of it, because it was that stressful. Between searching for an apartment, finding one we loved, losing that one because we waited “one more day” to make sure we really loved it and then endlessly scouring LA for another one, I’m ready to go to sleep for weeks. Seriously if I never have to look at craigslist or westside rentals or rent.com or any other awful renting website again, it will be too soon.
The saving grace of this week is that on Saturday morning, Bob and I are picking up our VW Surfari van and taking a road trip up the coast of California and camping in Big Sur. This is a trip that I have wanted to do for as long as I’ve lived in California. I can’t wait to see the waterfalls, endless sunsets, Jade Cove (yep, that exist!), wild animals like condors and bears and ostriches and sea lions, eat clam chowder and drink wine on top of the clouds overlooking the ocean. The trip is already romanticized in my head and I love that.
Bring it on.
As far as my outfit- I fell in love with the long flowy dresses and simple tshirts from so many NYFW collections that I wanted to try it out for myself. I had on booties, but it was just too hot to wear them walking the dogs, so I switched to flips. Imagine it with the booties, if you will. :)
