SOULFISHING: a blogette

Monday wasn’t the best of days… Bob’s car broke down, someone stole his debit card and even though his audition went well, he was too young for the part… boo. So, I made a delicious chicken and apple sausage gumbo for lunch and tried to figure out any way I could cheer him up.

On our way home from the audition, we stopped by this city garden park and took some pictures. I took new headshots for him and he took outfit photos of me. that is when Bob told me I looked like I was a garden… a garden party as an outfit- okay?!

over on my travel site, I found the best trench coats for different cities around the world- which would you wear?

simple color combo and classic, basic pieces… flirty and easy. lately, between traveling, hanging out with travel folks or writing about travel, I haven’t been inspired to dress up and take photos of my oufits… so finally, I got Bob and Meagan to snap a few last night before we saw The Help (which was great, sad but good). I instagramed the first one because the vintage skirt needed a little vintage editing and I love the feel of it. so sweet, so pretty, so easy.

Lulu Frost for JCrew… love these! 

huge stacked heels with a lovely 70’s vibe. if I worked in an office then I might consider buying one or more of these to transition into fall… but right now, just doesn’t seem practical. 

On our first full day in Nashville, Bob and I took a bus tour with his mom and sister around Downtown Nashville. The two fabulous ladies with us were the hosts and they are the craziest ladies I have ever met! Wow- don’t by shy for this tour because they will poke fun of everyone on the tour and throw in a little song and dance to boot! 

Nashville was humid and hot- it is the south after all- so I dressed perfect for the weather. Easy racer back tank, my favorite paperbag shorts and sandals… 

dear god- dear free people gods… why do you do this to me?! Your August catalog in Venice has me yearning for an Italian escape and I want to be doing it dressed in all your clothes! This last outfit is killing me… and I love love love that white and blue dress with the huge sleeves.

If a few of these happened to end up in my closet, I’d be a very happy girl.
