Well… actually I found this dress at a thrift store, cut off the top and sewed the skirt to my natural waist… so basically I made this skirt.
The other day I stumbled upon this image and fell in love. The colors, the skirts, the boho vibe… I loved everything about it. Then I was in the thrift store and found this hideous 80’s dress and thought- hm, this could be exactly like that skirt, minus the awful shoulder pads and ribbed lining. And I think it looks pretty close, don’t ya think?!

anyway- hope you are having a happy hump day!

On Monday, Bob and I drove to Chandler bike path to experiment with the new camera and so he could practice taking headshot-type photos. He’s been on set with so many different people lately and they have all expressed interest in him shooting them. FUN!
Needless to say, some of these photos are a tad bit over dramatic for a bike path or back alley- but the bums and stray dogs really appreciated how dressed up I was.
Man, Joshua Tree took it out of me- I went to sleep on Sunday afternoon for a short little nap and woke up on Monday morning- sweet- slept through Easter. (Zane if you are reading this- this is in fact the reason I did not call to eat left over Chick-fil-a… and i was really craving Polynesian sauce, too.)
outfit details: dress- F21, scarf- gift, necklace F21 and sunnies- Fossil.

oh, london… this little bangle should probably be mine. (Every time I looked at it I’d instantly remember all the good times I’ve had in this city.) via katespade.com

Ah, Friday… I haven’t done a Friday inspiration in a few weeks, but if I was going to do one today, I would have totally paid tribute to Emily. She always wears really feminine dresses or skirts and then mixes in a boyfriend blazer like the best of ‘em. She must also love her legs because her looks are always super short- which her legs are amazing (another thing to aspire to)- so I took a cue from that too with this super playful, completely springy- shorter than short short dress.
I also added some of the photos we snapped today while walking around Hollywood. We had lunch at Big Wangs (best place to watch college football-ever!) and Bob had two auditions. He has been on fire lately and I hope that he keeps this up! He is so happy when the phone rings and he booked a job.

Today was breezy and sunny and bright… it was the perfect spring day. And for some reason, spring makes me think pastels and whites, so I combined them for what may just be my favorite spring look.

boots- Lucky Brand cowboy boots
bracelets: painted ones- F21, green one- Jade Market Hong Kong

I included a shot of Bob too, because I love our new camera and it’s taking some really crisp shots.

walking to lunch and Bob decided to play around with our new camera… we are LOVING it!!
Also- I thought it was going to be cooler than it was today, so no need for the sweater. a quick tie around the waist and I was done. easy linen dress FTW!!

ahh, calyspo st. barth…

I picked up this cropped baggy sweater over the weekend when I bought the maxi skirt. I wanted a striped shirt/light weight sweater and when I put this one on, I knew it was the one. It kind of feels like you are wearing a big blanket- and since I’ve been trying to kick this cold for about two weeks now, it felt nice and easy to throw this on. A little nautical skirt and yellow wedges FTW and it was done. perfect easy outfit.

Fun! Sunday afternoon, Bob and I met a few friends for drinks at a brewery in Eagle Rock. There is no sign out front, but it was hoppin’ inside! This place is perfect for Sundays- totally chill, board games to play, great brews and pretty inexpensive. Oh, and really close by, too! I can’t believe we just found out about it. I’ve been looking for a cute long skirt for a few months now… I actually found one at Free People that was amazing- truly best maxi ever- but it was 148 bucks and for something I might not love for a few seasons, I thought I should try one a tad bit cheaper. I found this one at H&M and 9.99 and was sold. I love the cute pattern, how it sits at my natural waist and has a scalloped front to back. I’ve been seeing a lot of lace shirts lately, and one day when I was at Gap, I picked this one up for 4.99. seriously- not kidding, adorable. I love this outfit. I may wear it again tomorrow. and maybe this weekend.
Hope you had a great weekend!
