Gray skies need pretty dresses...

The last five days have been stressful!!! Basically in the last month, Vagabond3 has been hacked and deactivated our twitter, the whole site and now our email. Like, I’m not sure why someone would want to do that- but it’s been a huge headache for us to get everything back up and running. Oh, and basically- we have to rebuild the entire freakin’ site!! Like, repost every single post. yep- so that’s what I’ll be doing for the next year!

anyway- since I was feeling in such a downer mood, and it was equally depressing outside, I decided to dress up in my favorite new dress that my mom got me for christmas. The top is so pretty and I love the muted flower pattern at the bottom. To play up the flower power even more, I added the tights and a slightly darker hue on the shoes. I love how it all came together and I can’t wait to wear this dress with a turtleneck underneath and then bare arms when it gets a little warmer!

outfit details: dress- free people, cardigan- F21, shoes- target (i know, right… I bought them two years ago for only 6 bucks!), tights- marshalls, hair pins- h&m

Baby, it's cold outside...

It’s not just cold- it’s freakin’ freezing. Yes, I realize that on Monday it was almost 90 degrees… and that actually the temperature isn’t really freezing… but that contrast in temp has thrown me for a loop. I want to be sitting near a fire (we only have a gas fireplace, which as cute as the fire is, lets out almost not heat!) and drinking a hot chocolate!

We didn’t do that though, we went and saw a movie… 127 hours. and Whoa- that movie is intense (and really good)! Seriously, Black Swan had me sitting in the theatre curled up like a little girl and this movie had me gripping Bob’s hand and covering my eyes. If you are looking for a feel good, charming movie- go see The King’s Speech! I really can’t say enough about the cast, the directing… it was great.

Basically this is the time of year that Bob and I love. You’ll most likely find us at the movie theatre and I’m really looking forward to seeing Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. Have you seen the previews yet?

on to the outfit: The skirt is actually a daring little dress that my mom bought me a very long time ago.  I love the muted flower pattern and the material- it’s the softest velvet ever! Since it was so cold, and I knew I’d be sitting in a movie theatre, I bundled up with this dolman sleeved sweater. I absolutely love this outfit. Even though I looked super tired (because I was!!), I felt great in this.

Fake Christmas snow...

Day 30/30! I did it!- Not like I thought I couldn’t. :)

For date night, Bob and I went to see Black Swan. It was one of those movies that you will leave and finally exhale. I was holding my breath, tight in my seat for the entire movie. It made me want to dance again (not in the really competitive way, more like I starting dancing in my living room).  Anyway, before the movie we walked around Burbank and through the Christmas Tree and walked around on the “snow” the city created! The best part… it was about 72 degrees out! (Notice Bob is wearing flips!)

We also decided to take photos right as a snowball fight broke out! Kids and flying snow were everywhere!!

Yes, I was terrified!!

Day 28/30 Cutting down our own Christmas Tree! These pictures are fun… but really- you have to watch the video Bob made about our experience.  Bob had a LOT of trouble conquering that tree!! ha!

Today we are finishing filming a short film that Bob is entering into several contests… the prizes are huge- so here’s hoping he wins!!! I’m a jazz singer with crazy make-up and hair… I’ll be sure to upload some shots and the finished project when he’s done!

outfit details: dress- tucker for target, sweater- free people, belt- anthropologie, tights- HUE, bag- betsey johnson

A night at the Theatre...

image

Day 27/30 On Tuesday night, I accompanied Glenn to the theatre… the show was god awful, but it was fun nonetheless because Glenn and I could have fun anywhere!! P.S. the crowd was about 4 times our age… no joking!

As for this outfit, I love this dress… it’s the only thing I’ve ever paid full price for at Anthropologie because despite the “grandma pattern” (bob’s words), the gold and bronzey flowers with the tiered ruffles made my heart swoon. I just feel like it’s the perfect holiday dress.

Fun fact: This was the first betsey johnson purse I ever owned. My mom and I were shopping north of L.A. after first moving out here and we spotted it and died. Like it’s suede and the most luxurious thing I had ever seen. It was obviously, also the most expensive purse I had bought up until then, but oh so worth it! Thanks Mom  for my incredible style and shopping eye that always spots the best things! (Some call it a disease, I call it the shopping blessing!!!)

Christmas bells...

Day 26/30 I feel pretty christmasy in this outfit! It’s definitely the tights and the ribbon like detail on the dress. I really wanted to wear this dress more in the challenge, but have only worn it once (besides this time), that I had to figure out a way to dress it down some. Then Lucky magazine was delivered to my house and on one of the pages, they styled orangey red with light pink and white. It wasn’t at all this type of styling, but when I saw the colors together, I immediately thought of this. I LOVE this outfit.

Do you ever see something in a magazine that totally inspires your outfit choices?

Tumblr has been down off and on today and so… this is the second time I’ve tried to post this…

Day 25/30 Chinatown in Dowtown L.A. had their first Xmas tree all light up and on display. Bob and I stopped by after an acting convention/networking/ showcase thing…

Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve worn this exact outfit before on the challenge! I’m not afraid to wear the exact same look from head to toe- actually… I used a different purse- so, it’s different!! outfit details: skirt and sweater- free people, tights- HUE, purse- betsey johnson, necklace- gift from my momh

A Casual date night...

image

Day 24/ 30 After spending the day shopping with Carolyn and Meagan and watching football games, Bob and I wanted to see a late night movie. It was kind of chilly out, so I threw on my coziest sweater and scarf, my most awesome shoes and called it an outfit. This is my casual date night attire, ha!

We saw The King’s Speech- which, if you haven’t seen my twitter or facebook- was absolutely brilliant! Highly recommend! Colin Firth will win an oscar for this, as will the other actors… I’m pretty positive about that. The movie is so charming and funny and sweet… seriously, the best movie we’ve seen all year.

outfit details: cargos- old navy, shoes- report, sweater- f21, shirt- gap (all in the challenge), scarf- gift, purse- betsey johnson!

Day 23/30

This is the thing: Normally I wouldn’t pair together these two pieces… but in the spirit of mixing and matching- why not throw on two butterfly prints and call it a day?! I added all the white details to tie it all together. I think it came out pretty well actually… I mean, at least I look like I’m having a lot of fun! Life can’t be too serious when you’re wearing this outfit!!

oh, and look how cute Bolt the dog looks?! he’s the BEST cuddle partner, too. so sweet.

anyway- hope everyone had a great Saturday! Bob and I are off to cut down our own christmas tree today- wish us luck- I’ve never done anything like this before!!

outfit details: dress- free people, shirt- tucker for target, tights- free people (gift from mom), scarf- gap, hat- h&m, belt and ear rings- lucky brand.
