Create your life puzzle created this life for me! It sounds pretty right on!
"start looking forward to your life with a travel blooger, because it’s gonna be a good one. just imagine, sunday afternoons cruising in your california convertible with your pet shark in the passenger seat. your day job as a fashion stylist will bring in the big bucks so you can spend your time running ultra marathons in your mansion in buenos aires, argentina. but your real joy in life will come from traveling to 8 foreign countires. it’s no suprise your last words will be "watch this!"
-I mean, pet shark- are you kidding me?! This is the best life ever!
After doing laundry tonight, I realize that I have way too many work-out clothes, sweatshirts, hoodies and t-shirts from yesteryear. After how much time do you throw away (or donate) college, clubs, and theatre show t-shirts? I even have high school ones! I have a Indiana University t-shirt from my freshman year of college that was my suite-mates. I did not go to Indiana nor do I know anyone else who has. I think that one has to go, right?!
For this one, I love all the white, winter white is just so pretty and has such a precious feeling. I feel dainty and lovely and like I should host a garden party in Wales or something. Obviously the short sleeves would mean I would still need a jacket, but I love the sweater tights and red suede shoes (seriously one of my favorite pairs of shoes).
Anyway, this was the last day of the challenge. I really liked doing this, maybe next time I’ll put all the looks together and in the same post show how I styled them all up differently. fun, fun, fun- that is what fashion should be all about.
Really, I wish i had cowboy boots… this would be perfect if I did! I feel like Anthropologie would style this dress like this, like totally play down the fanciness of it an throw on an oversized sweater and belted it. and because I love anthro, I did just that. I really like the brown belt and wooden bracelet thrown in. I feel like that gives it a lived in look, that for some reason, I really like. I just wish I had those cowboy boots, then this would be my #1.
Sweater- free people, belt- lucky brand, shoes- seychelles, tights- free people, bracelets- actually a necklace, my grandma’s. headband- target.
I kept the red tights and was really liking how the black played off of the dress, so I swapped the jacket with black boots and added an orangey-red cardigan. I then belted it with a black ribbon and added a contrasting print scarf. I must say, I’m loving this one! I mean, obviously I really like styling clothes more than I thought. this is so much fun! I feel like I would totally wear this one out, like right now! (to read about first day and beginning of challenge)
Black boots- Seychelles, Cardigan- BCBG, Scarf- Marshalls
It’s been a little over two weeks since my boyfriend and I started our “wallet diet”. (The wallet diet is opening your wallet less thus not spending as much money thus bigger world trip thus more exciting and worth while experiences instead of eating out and shopping.) I will lay out the pros and cons.
-More Money (I can already see a huge difference in my bank account and that is awesome!)
- More time in the day for exercise, writing book, movie watching, spending quality time together
-Buying more groceries, so we are eating healthier
-Lost weight because of eating better
-BW3’s Buffalo Wing Thursdays (and Tuesdays for that matter)
-Fountain Drinks (because canned and bottled just aren’t as good.)
-Chipotle (enough said. that shit is delicious!)
-Scoring cute FP stuff at Loehmanns or Nordstrom Rack
-Online shopping isn’t fun
-eating sandwiches everyday for lunch
-City Wok (I need chinese in my life)
and these are just to name a few. I’m sure several of these places have put out a missing person report or are going to go out of business because we haven’t been in there as of late! Obviously the pros far out weigh the cons… but I love eating out and I’m not going to lie when I say I miss these things!
So, for the second option I tried to winterize it some. I added the red tights cause they are super fun and the dark green mary janes and black jacket to ground the super bright colors of the tights and dress. I then added a bunch of gold jewelry. I like it a lot!
Black jacket- Gap, Red tights- Marshalls, Mary Janes- Target, Gold bangles- F21, Gold Necklace- My grandma’s.
For my first look, I thought about playing off my first impressions this dress gives me. Summer immediately came to mind and I wanted to break up the dress and create a top/ skirt option. I added this wrap shirt from h&m, brown straw hat, brown sandals, pink/white straw clutch and wild colors beaded necklace. I think it looks totally cute. It really makes me want to go on a cruise! I think if I wear going to wear this out, I’d add some bangles just because my arms look a little bare. Cute, Cute, Cute! love it.
yellow wrap shirt- H&M, shoes- Nine West, Hat- Target, Clutch- H&M, Necklace- Gift from Meagan
After shopping for boots today, and browsing other departments as well, I noticed that I didn’t really want anything new! (I know! this is crazy, I love shopping… there should be something I want…) Maybe this whole don’t- shop- to- save- money- for- world- trip is hitting me right where it should and make me think about my clothes in new and more interesting ways and create more fun combinations. So, I thought for my first assignment I’d take this dress I picked up over christmas break. It’s from the BCBG outlet and cost $24.95. I mean, a steal, right?! When I bought it, I thought, oh, it’s a summer dress, I can’t wait til summer so I can wear it to outdoor parties. But I got to thinking… Why can’t I wear this dress now? So, for the next few days I’m going to spotlight how I styled it up for different seasons or situations. anyway, I hope you enjoy!
the new york times did a special about the 31 places you’ll want to travel to this year… and then black book took it a step further. they recognize that no one has any money to travel, let alone to some of the crazy places they listed, so they made a list of places that you’ll NOT want to go to, so you don’t have to worry about wishing you could! I love this idea.
I just got my Lucky Magazine in the mail and have been obsessing over several features they did. I’m loving all the florals and the way they styled them up. Muted flowers, tights, several jackets and tons of gloves. This is one of the looks I came up with after gushing over it. My mom bought me this dress over the christmas holidays and it’s my first time wearing it. I love it even more than when I tried it on at the store. It is so soft and the perfect fit throughout the waist and chest. This is one of the reasons I love Free People so much. Their clothes just fit my body unlike any other brand. I then topped it with two jackets. The first is a hoddie that brings out the more beige muted coolers and then the black velvet one ties it all together. and seriously, the light pink tights peeking through those shoes!! I love!
